I haven’t been posting much about photography lately. I seem to be in a funk. I pick up my camera then I put it down again and make up some excuse not to shoot. The one thing I have been doing is cursing the web for inspirational photo’s or videos to jump start my brain. I came across one that I think is worth sharing. Hit the play button for an incredible time-lapse of fog over Vancouver. Crank up the high-def to watch this. This is a technique I want to learn more about. My wheels are spinning – now to find a interesting location.

OK, I will admit it – I still have to stop and think through my f-stops. I hate to say it, but that whole f-stop thing gives me a run for my money every now and then. I saw this on one of my favorite photography websites. It’s not really photography related, but man is this cool! The video shows the winner of 2009’s ” Ukraine ’s Got Talent”, Kseniya Simonova, 24. She is drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II. Incredible to watch.

One of my favorite all-time photog’s is Joe McNally. I was cruising his site this morning and I was reminded of the shoot he did for National Geographic – The Power of Light. Amazing shot! Amazing behind the scenes video! Just so inspirational. I would have paid anything to be able to tag along on that shoot. And I just saw on twitter he was local to me this past week – damn it! I would have loved to have a cup of coffee with that guy. Joe next time your in Town, I’m buying the coffee!

Welcome to my blog! I have been rolling around the idea of creating a blog in my head for about 6-months now, trying to figure out what it would look like. I’m not sure I ever really came up with an answer to that question, but what I hope to accomplish is to create a place where I can share my images, get a little feedback, hopefully inspire others and to learn and grow as a photographer.

There are so many great places on the web to obtain photography knowledge and to learn new techniques. I hope this site can become a small resource and add to the your enjoyment of photography.

In addition to sharing my images, I want to be able to share cool things I run across on the web, techniques I use or don’t use and general information about my passion – photography.

So i’m not really sure where this will go, but I hope it is a great learning experience for all; pushes me to create better images, and provides a place to share my success as well as my failures.
